You enjoy microstock photography. You make money from microstock photography. Why not let others pay you to build up your microstock photography portfolio even further! You can get started right away by promoting yourself as a wedding photographer. But before you do, there is one (obvious) golden rule of wedding photography which must be followed...
Never give the bride and groom the impression that you are better than you really are, and always ensure that they both have a clear and accurate idea of what you are capable of, with realistic expectations. Its their big day, not yours. If you are not a capable and experienced wedding photographer, your charges should reflect this, but that need not stop you from being taking wedding photos.
Wedding photos sell very well, and can be keyworded using several different themes. Weddings, brides, cakes, rings, alcohol, parties, celebrations, holidays, and love. I don't like booking myself up years in advance. Full time wedding photography is not something I want to do. I want the opportunity to shoot at weddings, but with no responsibility or obligation to meet anyones expectations whilst building my microstock photography portfolio. To get the best of both worlds, you can offer your services as a secondary candid photographer!
Agree a reduced rate. Make it clear that you guarantee nothing, and that you are there as a secondary photographer to provide them with hundreds of photos of the 'stuff' the official wedding photographer is missing out on, the good stuff, natural candid photos of their family and friends having a good time.
A couple will only work with you if they like you, so there is a good chance they wont mind signing a model release. Whilst at the wedding, you can take hundreds of photos of the bride and groom too, and you should come away with dozens of excellent photos, for you and for them. One good wedding shoot could earn you thousands of dollars in microstock photography commissions in the years ahead. Even without a model release, the variety of subjects you can shoot are endless!

Combine wedding photography with microstock photography. I do, and I sell my photos online with increased earning potential, by having a more diverse portfolio and ultimately more photos. I get paid to sell photos online by both the wedding couple and also the microstock photography sites! The main thing is I enjoy it.
